September 24, 2018 – 4:30 am: One person is dead after an SUV drifted into an 18-wheeler’s lane early on Monday morning.
The accident took place on U.S. Highway 290 (the Northwest Freeway), causing major delays and closures. Specifically, the collision occurred on westbound 290 at SH-6.
According to police, the driver of the SUV was dead when they arrived. The SUV was seriously damaged in the crash, and the big rig came to a stop in the highway’s median.
All main lanes on westbound U.S. 290 were shut down after the accident, and police on the scene diverted traffic onto other roads.
At this time the accident is still under investigation. The cause of the accident is still uncertain, as it is still unknown why the SUV’s driver drifted into the wrong lane. The authorities have not yet released any information about the identity of the driver who was killed in the crash.
