According to news reports, the crash took place on Monday, but the police did not release the names of the victims until Tuesday.
November 26, 2018 – 12:30 am: Four people were killed in an accident very early on Monday morning when a pickup left the interstate and rolled over.
Police identified the four victims on Tuesday. They were the driver, Eduin Alexander Raudales-Lopez, 28, and three passengers: Alfredo Cruz, 49, Gerardo Antonio Diaz-Chavarria, 26, and Ludwin Gabriel Henriquez Maradiaga, 26. Cruz is from Houston, while the other three are from Honduras.
The accident took place in Abilene, on I-20 at Business 20. The cause of the accident is currently unknown. Witnesses on the scene told reporters their pickup was headed westbound when it left the Interstate, rolled across the eastbound lanes, and landed in a ditch.
Diaz-Chavarria and Maradiaga were both ejected from the pickup truck during the accident.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Police arrived on the scene shortly after the event, finding the victims dead on the scene. Police are uncertain of the cause of the accident at this time. The crash is still under investigation.
