December 20, 2018 – 11:00 am: A woman’s car was hit head-on by a tire that came off of an 18-wheeler on Thursday morning. Fortunately, the woman was able to swerve so that the tire hit the passenger’s side, leaving her uninjured.

The accident happened on the North Freeway near Cypresswood on Thursday morning.

The woman said that she was driving down the highway when the tire came free, hit the median, and bounced down the road in front of her vehicle before smashing into her windshield.

Fortunately, she was able to swerve so the tire hit the passenger’s side. It is very likely that the accident would have caused serious injury, or even proved fatal, had she been unable to swerve out of the way.

At this time, it is unknown what caused the tire to come flying off of the 18-wheeler. The woman’s name has not been made available to the public at this time, and at this point it seems unlikely that her name will ever be made publicly available.
