Driver Dies in Single-Vehicle Big Rig Crash in Harris County

According to news reports, the big rig hit a guardrail and burst into flames, while the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

 

November 19, 2018 – 9:00 pm: The driver of a big rig was killed in a major crash involving an 18-wheeler in northwest Harris County on Monday evening. The cause of the accident is still unknown.

The accident took place on the 12000 block of TC Jester, near Spears Road. The identity of the driver has not yet been made available to the public.

According to investigators, the truck hit the guardrail, bursting into flames. The driver was ejected from the vehicle, his body covered in flames. He was pronounced dead on the scene of the accident. It is unknown whether the man was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Traffic on TC Jester was shut down for several hours after the crash, while cleanup and investigation were taking place.

According to witnesses on the scene, the truck was traveling at high speeds and swerving before the crash took place. The cause of the accident is still unknown at this time. The crash is still under investigation.
