News reports indicate that the one-vehicle crash led to three deaths when a pickup truck crashed into an embankment.
September 1, 2018 – 9:00 am: Three people are dead after a 2008 Dodge pickup crashed into an embankment near Beason Creek in Grimes County.
The crash happened while the pickup was headed northbound on Highway 6, a little bit south of FM 2.
For as-yet-unknown reasons, the pickup drove into the median and crashed into the embankment, killing all three occupants. The driver was the 56-year-old Bradley Morrison, and the two passengers were the 52-year-old Phoebe Morrison and the 37-year-old Tasha Morrison.
All three of the Morrisons were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
At the time of the accident, the pickup was traveling northbound in the outside lane. For the crash to happen, it had to veer to the left and cross through the inside lane. It’s unclear at this time why the driver lost control for long enough for that to happen.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is still investigating the accident. They are especially concerned with understanding why the pickup suddenly turned and crashed into the embankment.
