Hospitalized Woman Dies a Week After Rusk County Crash

According to news reports, the woman was hospitalized in serious condition and died seven days after the crash.

 

December 6, 2018 – 5:45 pm: The 64-year-old Teresa Louise Clark died on December 13th as a result of injuries she sustained in a two-car collision on December 6th. The other driver, 55-year-old Christopher E. Huss, has also been hos-wpitalized with serious injuries.

The accident took place on SH-64, a few miles west of Henderson.

Huss was driving a 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan westbound, while Clark was driving a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe eastbound at the time of the accident. The Grand Caravan crossed the center line into the eastbound lanes, hitting Clark’s Santa Fe head-on.

When the Texas Department of Public Safety arrived on the scene, Huss was taken to UT Health-Henderson in serious condition. Clark was taken to Christus Mother Francis Hospital, where she remained for the next week before being pronounced dead on December 13th.

The cause of the crash is still unknown at this time, and DPS is still conducting their investigation. They have commented that both drivers involved in the crash were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
