According to news reports, structural engineers are going to visit the bar to see if the building is in stable condition after the accident.

November 12, 2018 – 1:00 am: A woman was injured early Monday morning when her car hit a bar near Hemphill, according to Houston police.

The accident took place at the Darkhorse Tavern bar on the 2200 block of Washington Avenue, just a couple of blocks away from the Glenwood Cemetery.

The woman lost control of her vehicle, went off the road, and crashed into the front of the bar. She was injured in the crash, but no one else was hurt. She was taken to the hospital and is now in stable condition.

There were several other people in the bar at the time of the accident, but fortunately, none of them were hurt. According to bar manager Pauly Maira, “I had a group of people closest to the door, everybody’s talking and then just a loud bang. First thing I did was immediately run outside.”

The woman in the vehicle had to be cut out of the car because she was unconscious.

It’s unclear at this time why the driver lost control of her vehicle. The accident is still under investigation.
