Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) suffered as a result of an accident are often serious and tragic. Each year, TBIs account for 2.5 million emergency room\u00a0visits, 280,000 hospital visits, and 50,000 deaths.<\/p>\n

Many forms of brain injuries can be associated with personal injury cases (e.g. motor vehicle accidents<\/a>, slip-and-falls<\/a>), criminal acts (e.g. assault and battery), and on-the-job accidents. Traumatic brain injuries may have an affect on a victim\u2019s ability to think, feel, and communicate, and include concussions, contusions, diffuse axonal injuries, and penetration injuries, among others.<\/p>\n

Parts of the Brain and its Functions<\/h2>\n

There are 6 sections of the brain that allow humans to function. Each section is responsible for a number of abilities \u2013 including memory, motor skills, problem solving, and more.<\/p>\n
