According to police, the original accident took place when a man rear-ended an 18-wheeler.
September 25, 2018 – 9:30 pm: A man was killed Tuesday night after being hit by at least two cars. He was struck and killed after fleeing the scene of an accident where he rear-ended an 18-wheeler.
Tuesday night’s accident took place on Wallisville Road, near Crosby Freeway.
After hitting the 18-wheeler, the man jumped out of his car and ran onto Crosby Freeway. He attempted to cross the freeway, but was hit by at least two vehicles while crossing.
When police arrived, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured in the accident.
The drivers of both vehicles that struck the man remained at the scene of the accident until police arrived. No charges have been filed, and no charges are expected to be filed on either of them.
Police have not released the identity of the man who was killed in the accident. The crash is still under investigation, and it is still unknown why the man fled the site of the first accident in the first place.
