Man Dies After Single-Vehicle Accident

According to news reports, the accident took place last Wednesday, but the man did not die until early this week.

November 21, 2018 – 7:35 pm: An unidentified 60-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle accident that took place last Wednesday, November 21. The man was taken to the hospital after the accident, dying of his injuries on Monday, November 26.

The accident took place around the 5200 block of Calgary last Wednesday. According to Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer D. Henley, the man was driving a gray Ford 500 westbound on Calgary. For reasons that are not entirely clear, the man failed to stay in his lane and drove into a ditch.

The Ford 500 hit the end of the ditch and went airborne, crossing Caxton Street and landing in a ditch on the 5100 block of Calgary. The man was hospitalized and taken to the hospital, where he eventually died.

The cause of the accident is not known with certainty at this time, but police suspect that he may have been suffering a medical episode of some kind at the time of the accident.

The man’s identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The event is still under investigation at this time.
