December 22, 2018 – 6:00 am: An unidentified man has been hospitalized in stable condition after crashing into a wall on the freeway in Pasadena on Saturday morning. According to police, alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash.
The accident took place on State Highway 225 in Pasadena.
The man reportedly fell asleep while driving on the freeway, leading to a collision with the wall. He was then impaled on some piping, which cut through the body of the vehicle and into the lower part of his body.
When the Pasadena and Houston fire departments responded to the accident, the man was still trapped in the car. He had to be cut out of the vehicle before he could be taken in for treatment. Despite the fact that he was impaled, the man is reported to be in stable condition after the accident.
The identity of the man has not been released at this time, and investigators have not drawn any conclusions about the cause. However, they state that it’s not likely that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
