Man Injured in Fiery Crash in Temple

According to news reports, the driver was conscious and able to talk when Temple EMS picked him up.

 

January 2, 2019 – 11:00 am: An unidentified driver was injured in a single-vehicle crash that took place in the Temple area on Wednesday morning. Fire crews from Temple and Moffat were on the scene to put out the fire after the crash.

The accident took place on the 16900 block of State Highway 36.

For unknown reasons, a white van crashed through the guardrail on the side of the highway, coming to a stop near a ditch and catching fire. The driver of the van was able to get himself out of the vehicle before the fire became too intense, but he was still hospitalized with some minor injuries.

Multiple firefighting teams from several fire departments were called onto the scene of the accident. After being dispatched at about 11:00 a.m., the last unit to leave the scene did so at around 12:15 p.m.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. The name of the driver injured in the crash and his current condition have not been made available to the public. This crash is still under investigation.
