According to police reports, it is unknown what type of vehicle was involved in the crash, and police are currently searching for the driver responsible.
November 23, 2018 – 9:05 pm: One unidentified man was killed while trying to cross the northbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway on foot Friday night. The driver who hit him fled the scene of the accident and is currently being sought by the Houston Police Department.
The crash took place on the northbound lanes of the 7100 block of Gulf Freeway on Friday night.
According to Sgt D. Rodriguez and Officer K. Hines of the HPD Vehicular Crimes division, the man was trying to cross the freeway on foot when he was hit by the unknown vehicle. The driver fled the scene of the accident.
Neither the driver nor the pedestrian has been publicly identified at this time. The victim’s identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
