Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Late-Night Crash

According to police reports, the accident may have been the result of the motorcyclist running a red light, although the investigation is ongoing.

 

November 25, 2018 – 11:45 pm: A motorcyclist is in serious condition after an accident involving an SUV in downtown Houston on Sunday night.

The crash took place at the intersection of Pierce Street and Travis, according to Lt. Larry Crowson, spokesman for the Houston Police Department.

The motorcyclist was headed eastbound on Pierce Street and appears to have run a red light at Travis, leading to the crash. He hit the side of an SUV and was transported to the hospital in what is described as “serious but stable” condition.

The driver of the SUV was not hurt in the crash.

Police have not publicly identified the motorcyclist, nor have they released the identity of the driver of the SUV involved in the crash.

Lt. Crowson commented that at this time it appears that the motorcyclist was at fault in the crash. There is no word at this time on whether charges are expected to be filed related to this accident.

Officers of the Houston Police Department are still investigating the crash at this time.
