One Dead After Carjacking Leads to Fatal Crash

According to news reports, a 16-year-old boy has been arrested for stealing the vehicle, which crashed a few hours after the theft.

 

November 23, 2018 – 2:15 am: One person is dead and one has been arrested in a single-vehicle accident involving a stolen car.

The crash took place in front of a car dealership off the Gulf Freeway and Sagedowne.

A couple of hours before the crash took place, a group of young men stole the vehicle at gunpoint, taking it on a joyride around town. For unknown reasons, the vehicle hit a pole in front of the auto dealership at high speeds.

The front passenger was killed in the crash, which crushed the front half of the car. At least one of the other passengers was taken to the hospital by helicopter. The condition of this passenger is not publicly available at this time.

The 16-year-old driver of the vehicle has been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery after allegedly stealing the car. According to police spokesman Lt. Whitman Liu, a gun was found in the vehicle when police began their investigation.

This accident and the circumstances around it are still under investigation.
