December 14, 2018 – 9:25 pm: An unidentified driver was killed in a crash that took place on the Sam Houston Parkway on Friday night. The other driver in the crash, the 22-year-old Christian Liddel-Campbell, has been charged with driving while intoxicated.

The crash took place at 6200 South Sam Houston Parkway, at the intersection with West Fuqua Street.

Liddell-Campbell had been driving a tan Chrysler Town & Country minivan southbound on West Fuqua at the time of the accident. The Chrysler hit a white Toyota Camry in the intersection. Both vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, leading to the accident.

The driver of the Camry, also a 22-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene when Houston police arrived. Liddell-Campbell showed signs of intoxication when the police arrived, so he was detained and charged.

At this time, investigators are not certain which driver had the right of way in the accident.

This crash is still under investigation. If it is found that the driver of the Toyota had the right of way, Liddell-Campbell is likely to face further charges.
