According to news reports, the force of the impact with the other vehicle flipped the officer’s police cruiser.
November 16, 2018 – 4:00 pm: A Houston police officer was injured in a two-car collision that took place on Friday afternoon, in which her vehicle was flipped.
The accident took place on the East Freeway frontage road near Wayside Drive.
It appears that the other driver involved in the crash ran a red light before hitting the police cruiser. The force of the impact flipped the cruiser and injured the officer inside.
There is speculation that the officer was responding to a call at the time of the crash because the cruiser’s emergency lights were flashing at the scene of the accident.
At this time, the extent of the injuries to the officer involved and those to the driver of the other vehicle have not been made public. However, it is stated that both of them were taken to local hospitals. The identities of the officer and the other driver have not been made available to the public at this time.
