Pickup Driver Seriously Injured in Late-Night Crash

According to news reports, the cause of the multi-vehicle crash is not known at this time.

 

December 13, 2018 – 2:45 am: The driver of a pickup truck was seriously injured in a crash that took place very early on Thursday morning in southeast Houston.

The accident happened on the eastbound lanes of the South Loop, near Wayside.

According to news reports, the driver of the pickup lost control of the vehicle on the freeway, hitting a metal guard rail and leading to the accident. The vehicle ended up in a grassy area and the driver was hospitalized with serious injuries.

Police state that the cause of the accident is currently unknown, but it wasn’t likely to be weather conditions because the night’s rain hadn’t started in that area yet.

Traffic was blocked off for a couple of hours after the crash, but as of 6:02 A.M. on Thursday morning all lanes of the South Loop had reopened.

The driver of the pickup has not been identified, and there is no word on the individual’s current condition. Police do not yet know the cause of the accident, which is still currently under investigation.
