Three Dead in Odessa Street Racing Crash

News reports state that three were killed and two were injured in the crash, which took place late last night just outside of Odessa.

October 1, 2018 – 11:10 pm: Three people were killed in a street racing crash Monday night: Christian Flores, 22, of El Paso; Araceli A. Galbadon, 47, of Odessa; and Kassandra G. Delagarza, 20, also of Odessa.

The accident took place when a 2017 Dodge Challenger and a 2013 Dodge Challenger were racing west on 16th street, about two miles west of Odessa. Christian Flores was driving the 2017 Dodge, while the other vehicle was being driven by Albertico Valenzuela, a 17-year-old Odessa resident.

Flores lost control, hitting Valenzuela’s car. Valenzuela’s car collided with an oncoming 2017 Chevrolet Impala. The Impala was forced off the road and into a Chevrolet Silverado in a nearby parking lot.

Flores was killed when he went off the road. Galbadon and Delagarza were both in the Impala, and were killed in the impact. Two other Impala passengers were severely injured: Sergio Delagarza and Elias Delagarza.

Valenzuela was not injured in the crash. The accident is still under investigation at this time, and it is unknown if any charges will be filed.
