Two Teens Arrested, One Injured in Carjacking Case

According to news reports, both of the teens were arrested and one of them was hospitalized with injuries after crashing.

 

December 20, 2018 – 12:00 am: One 16-year-old boy was injured in a crash after a police chase in southwest Houston on Wednesday night. Both the boy and a 17-year-old girl were arrested for carjacking after the crash.

The crash took place at Bissonnet and Beltway 8, after the police chase began near Beechnut and Beltway 8.

The police chase began near midnight, when officers spotted a vehicle that was reported stolen a few hours before. The teens fled the police when they were flagged down, and the chase began.

The chase ended when the boy driving the vehicle lost control, crashing into a concrete wall near Bissonnet and Beltway 8. Police arrested the pair and took the boy into the hospital for what are reported to be minor injuries.

Police report that they believe the teens were involved in another robbery that took place after the carjacking but before they were able to locate the stolen vehicle.

The identities of the teens involved in the accident have not been made public. An investigation into the event is ongoing.
