Two Men Killed in Crash Early on Friday Morning

According to news reports, the men were both active members of Houston’s truck community.

 

December 7, 2018 – 4:30 pm: Laurence Garza and Jonathan Gonzalez were both killed in a crash during the storms that went through on Friday morning.

The crash took place Friday morning on the Sam Houston Tollway, near Wallisville Road.

Garza and Gonzalez were both active members in popular Houston car and truck communities. The community has started a GoFundMe account to help cover the costs of the funerals for both men.

Gonzalez is survived by his wife Miriam, who he married only a week before on December 1, 2018.

Information on the cause of the accident is not readily available, but there has been an outpouring of support from a mourning community on social media. One Facebook post states that, “I’ve been tryin to register this horrible news and I still can’t wrap my head around it all. We lost two great men today and I’m sending my condolences and prayers to the families in this difficult time!”

Houston Performance Trucks is hosting a memorial fundraiser for the two men on Sunday, December 16. The Fundraiser will run from 11 A.M. to 7 P.M. at Baytown’s Houston Raceway Park.
