January 17, 2019 – 12:45 am: A woman was injured after the driver of the white car she was riding in was chased by police and crashed into a support pillar early Thursday morning. The male driver was arrested, while the woman was hospitalized with minor injuries.
The crash took place at Cullen, under the South Loop 610, after a brief police chase. The driver got out of the vehicle and fled on foot after crashing, but police were able to apprehend him soon afterward.
The car was seriously damaged on the front driver’s side, leaving the hood crumpled and torn.
According to police, they began to chase the vehicle after they noticed that the car he was driving had fake paper license plates. The man was in violation of his parole, and is now back in custody.
The woman only experienced minor injuries in the crash. Neither she nor the male driver of the car has been identified to the public at this time.
No one else was injured in Thursday morning’s crash.
